The classic way to tell whether you’re an optimist or a pessimist is to determine whether you see a partial glass of water as half full, or half empty.
But the month of June offers another great test: do you see the year as half over, or do you see yourself as still having half a year left to accomplish
your goals?
When it comes to real estate marketing, how you measure can be just as
important as what you measure. In an industry where lead time for prospects turning into clients can stretch from a couple of days to a couple of years,
evaluating – and maintaining – the quality of your marketing efforts is vital.
The month of June marks the halfway point of the calendar year, and offers a great time to give yourself a mini marketing checkup.
Take a look at your accomplishments and actions for the year so far:
- Have you attended as many networking events as you planned?
- Have you handed out as many real estate business cards as you wanted to?
- Are you having as many conversations with new acquaintances as you had hoped?
- Are you doing as much marketing as you feel you need to be?
- Have you kept up with the direct mail postcard campaigns you wanted to send out?
- How many new clients have you acquired?
- Are your sales goals on target with your expectations?
Summer is usually too busy to spend a huge amount of time doing an in-depth marketing review. But it is a good time to give yourself a gut-check and see if the actions you’re taking are leading to the results you want to see.
And don’t worry – whether you’re an optimist or a pessimist, the truth is, there’s still plenty of time left to ensure that 2016 will be a stellar year for your real estate business.
