Here are three quick ways to utilize door hangers in your real estate marketing plan:
For Sale or Just Sold Announcements
Residents of a given neighborhood are inherently curious about the houses that are going up for sale and those that have just sold. Sharing this information on a door hanger with your contact information not only gives you a branding opportunity, it may also encourage them to tell their friends about houses that are currently for sale and it will encourage them to call YOU to sell THEIR house. Obviously you are getting the job done with similar/comparable homes in the area, right?
Short Sale or Foreclosure Homes
If you are a real estate investor, or you are working for one, targeting Short Sale or Foreclosure homes with a door hanger that says, “I want to buy your home “as is” condition. Please call me.” with your name, phone number, email address is effective. It is a non-threatening way to offer these distressed homeowners a solution to their problem while finding quality investment properties for you or your client(s).
STROLL, MEET PEOPLE, AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Create real estate branding door hangers and take a stroll during the early morning hours
(when people are getting their newspaper and wheeling waste cans around back). Talk to the people who are out. Introduce yourself and let them know you are specializing in real estate in their neighborhood. Offer them a few business cards for anyone they know who may be in the market for a new home, or those who wish to sell their existing home. Place door hangers on any doors where the residents aren’t yet stirring. (Don’t knock on doors early in the morning, that’s just rude.)
You can also plan an early evening stroll to meet and greet. The difference is, you can knock on doors and talk to people in their homes in the early evening hours. Just be sure to avoid meal times. Leave door hangers when there is no answer. If you live in the neighborhood, be sure to let the people you meet know that too. Be a social butterfly, leave your information, have conversations and drum up business!
